Further definitions

Shot Size- How big the shot is; For example, 80x80.
Focus- Used to make the audience pay special attention to certain features.
Camera Angle- Establishes the spatial and emotional relationship the audience has with the subject of the shot. These include, low angle and high angle shots.
Framing- Determines what we look at and how we look at it.

Camera shot/shot scale

Extreme Close-Up; A small object or part of the body fills most of the screen.

Close-up; A person's head, or an objects of a comparable size, fills most of the screen. Mainly used to show the artists facial expressions, to convey how they are feeling.

Medium Close- up; A person's head and chest would fill most of the screen.

Medium shot; A person seen from the waist up would fill most of the screen. This shot type is used to distinguish the Mise En Scene being used in a photo.

Medium long shot/ Three-quarter shot- A person from the knees up would fill most of the screen.

Long Shot- The full figure of a standing person would appear nearly the height of the screen.

Extreme Long shot- A building, landscape or crowd of people would fill the screen.

History of Billboard magazine.

Billboard is an international news weekly magazine devoted to the music industry. This magazine is one of the oldest music magazines around. It was founded in Cincinnati in 1894, by William H Donaldson and James Hennegan. Originally titled Billboard Advertising it was a trade papers for the bill posting industry, hence the magazine's name.  In 1909, it began focusing on the coverage of motion picture.  At the start of 1961, The Billboard was renamed Billboard Music Week. The publication was now devoted almost entirely to the music industry, with some coverage of coin-operated vending and entertainment machines on its jukebox pages. The title was changed to simply Billboard at the start of 1963. In 2005, the magazine and its web sites were repositioned to provide coverage of all forms of digital and mobile entertainment. Billboard Publications became a major trade magazine publisher, acquiring The Hollywood Reporter, Kirkus Reviews, Ad week and Media week. It was acquired by Dutch publisher VNU (later renamed the Nielsen Company) in 1993, but later sold in 2009 along with the other Nielsen Business Media properties to the new company e5 Global Media, which was renamed in 2010 to Prometheus Global Media.  Similarly to Vibe, Billboard also has a mass audience and focuses on a younger target audience.  Likewise, Billboard host their own charts, such as the Billboard top 100 charts.

History of Vibe magazine.

The magazine of vibe is that of the music and entertainment genre. It was launched in 1993.The magazine was produced by Quincy Jones.  It predominantly features R&B and hip hop information about their artists, actors and other entertainers.  The magazine came to a halt in 2009. The magazine was purchased by the private equality investment fund InterMedia Partners. The magazine targets a young audience, whilst urban and the hip-hop culture.  In 2008, Vibe had 80,000 readers, showing a mass audience that the magazine covers.  The magazine was highly known for its interesting and top quality front covers.  The magazine hosts a top range of numerous music artists on their magazines.  The magazine received numerous awards for the value of the magazines. In comparison, they also hosted numerous awarding ceremonies, which included, UPN and VH1 soul, and also they hosted the best rapper alive tournament.  In contrast, they publish numerous books and also have their very own 'music mixer' IPhone App.

Contents page sketch.

This is my plan for my contents page. For me, I am looking to follow this plan and add extra to it when making my own. Looking back at my magazine that I have followed everything that I planned to do. Therefore i'm relatively pleased with what I have achieved through the production of my contents page, and the planning.
