I like this picture. However, the fact the actor is smiling conveys that it is not serious enough. Within my magazine, I want the pictures to be serious, to show the seriousness of the magazine. However, yes at times in the magazine, I could include pictures with the actor smiling. Furthermore, I feel that this photo would not fit into the front cover or the contents and possibly the double page spread. The good thing is, it follows the main rules of a front cover, with a medium shot.
This is probably one of the best pictures I took. The seriousness of the magazine could be emphasised through this one picture. The props being used convey the genre in further detail. The cap and chain are key props used often. The artist is looking in a different direction, which gives a sense of ignorance which links in with the character of the artist. It is a popular trate that is represented with an R&B artist. Again, it follows the rules of that it should be in the medium shot range. Overall, I feel that this is a really good picture and would look good on the front cover preferably.
