 Lighting Effects:

Within the publication of a magazine, the editors have a main focus on different lighting effects. The lighting effects are key as they help make a picture look more detailed and give a wider function about the image. Also, the lighting of an image is massively important as it allows the image to stand out more than all the writing, therefore it enables the audience to get a wider understanding of what the magazine is about. The use of photoshop enables the editor to add extra detail to certain images conveying a higher lighting effect making them stand out. In the magazine, Billboard, the main picture has focused on shadow, meaning that the light has been taken out of the picture, emphasising a more dark and seriousness about the cover. In Vibe magazine, the picture is much more lighter, creating a bright and exciting effect towards the audience. The colour and brightness of a front cover or picture is used effectively in attracting more potential readers. Both magazines change there lighting depending on the target audience. If the target audience was a much younger generation then the colours would be much more brighter,with fresh light colours, compared to an older target audience where they would want a serious magazine, therefore the colours would be much darker.
